That’s mockit! In Scotland we’ll not be slow in telling you if your hygiene standard falls short of the ideal. Unless you’re from Glasgow (like me) where they are well-known soap dodgers. The shame!

Mockit

Mockit means filthy, dirty, insanitary… just, yuck! In Scottish working class communities of my childhood a woman not keeping a clean house was unthinkable and her daily routine would revolve around the war on poverty and disease which would be met head on with a wire brush and dettol. Nowadays we have technology to help us with that, but some folk are still strangers to a bar of soap. Eeew… that’s pure mockit, so it is!
